Using AutoCAD hatches in Chief
With Chief Architect not running:
1 - locate the file called acad.pat (or any other valid *.pat file). Windows XP will treat it as a hidden file, so you'll need to allow it to search for those types if you search.
2 - Copy it to your the Patterns directory for Chief. Mine is C:\Program Files\Chief Architect Inc\Chief Architect X1\Patterns
3 - Start Chief.
4 - In any closed polyline dbx
- select Custom for the fill pattern
- browse to the Chief Patterns directory and select acad.pat
- then in the drop down underneath it, you'll be able to select from all the patterns in that file.
For some reason, my AR-Sand doesn't work, but the rest do. Bummer, 'cause that's one of my favorites.
